Malaysia United Buddy Bear-Pavillion

"We have to get to know each other better ...
... it makes us understand one another better,
trust each other more, and live together more peacefully."

Under this motto, the UNITED BUDDY BEARS promote living together in peace and harmony on their global tour. Around 140 Buddy Bears (each 2 m tall) represent as many countries recognized by the United Nations.

Since the first exhibition in Berlin in 2002, more than 25 million visitors world-wide have been able to admire the United Buddy Bears.

Art and Culture: Each Buddy Bear shows the individual design created by different artists on behalf of their native countries. The international artists’ different styles are joined together in one work of art, spreading zest for life. The diverse design of the Buddy Bears – always typical for the respective countries – enables the visitors to experience a journey around the globe.

The Message: The Buddy Bears stand together “hand in hand”, symbolizing the future vision of a peaceful world. Each bear stands for the people of the different countries and their culture, yet not for political systems.

All 143 Buddy Bears are in town at Pavilion KL, the United Buddy Bears had made its way to the 23rd stop of the world tour in Malaysia as the 19th city visited and traveled by the Buddy Bears; over five continents where more than 25 million people around the world had the opportunity to admire the bears. And yesterday, one more bear - the Malaysian Bear is officially lunched. From 08th December 2011 until the 15th February 2012 the United Buddy Bears exhibition are launched in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, under the patronage of the Sultan of Selangor. 143 bears are presented downtown on Jalan Bukit Bintag.

The Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail, supports the exhibition and the overall focus is on aid for children in need. Numerous charity activities are planned to take place during the weeks of the exhibition.

The programmed of activities for the exhibition will include visits of children from various homes and schoolchildren, coloring activities for children as well as an auction of some of the life-size Buddy Bears at the end of the exhibition to raise funds for Malaysian children charities.

Spot the Special Bears in silver. There are 4 special bears, I'm able to spot two of them over the crowds.

The Respect for All Life Bear is a symbol for respecting all life, whether human or animal. It also acts as a role model for the concept for rescuing cruelly tortured bears - the Moon Bear Rescue, a project of the Asia Foundation.

Einstein Bear with the quote from Albert Einstein, "Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding"

The other two special bears are the Golden Rule Bear and Global Ethic Bear.

Close up of some of the bears, the United Buddy Bears will be in Pavilion from now till February 15th, 2012. Don't miss out your chance to meet the bears and be amazed.

Strolling outside Pavilion while looking at lovely cute and artistic bears around the world. Could you imagine these bears had traveled way more countries than most of us had?

Ending with the Motto of United Bears:
"We have to get to know each other better ... it makes us understand one another, trust each other more and live together more peacefully."

The exhibition of the United Buddy Bears will be in the main entrance of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, from 8th December till 15h February 2012.

  • 240g all purpose flour
  • 15g matcha powder
  • 150g unsalted butter, softened
  • 130g powder sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions:

Sift the flour and green tea powder.

Cream butter, sugar, and salt until soft and light.

Add in the yolks and beat well.

Add the chocolate chips and fold in together.

Shape the dough into 2 logs and wrap them in saran wrap. Rest in the fridge overnight.

Preheat oven to 300F (150C) and cut the cookies to 7mm thickness. I think if you put too many chocolate chips, this step can be a little tricky as you see in the photo.

Bake for 20 minutes and let them cool on rack.

Christmas Eve At The Magnificent Fish N Chips Bar And Healy Macs Irish Bar

Thank You Guys For The Christmas Celebration Together!
We really enjoy the day ! This will be our memories together !

Christmas Dinner at The Magnificent Fish N Chips Bar 2011

The Magnificent Fish N Chips Bar

The restaurant is situated at Changkat Bukit Bintang, just directly opposite Gypsy Wine & Bar, and a stone’s throw away from Bermuda & Onion, the other two places I have visited along the stretch of shops that is frequented by more expats than locals.

The very helpful waiter, Bangladesh, came to our assistance as we sat down, and politely explained that there is no “small” menu available. Everything they serve is written on giant blackboards hung on the walls inside the restaurant, which is not exactly very convenient if you happen to sit alfresco, or upstairs.

Something different about this restaurant is they don’t have a food menu...So if you wanna check on what to eat, just take a look at the several blackboards placed on the walls...

So many sauces for you to choose to go for your food...some of this which we don't usually see is the LINGHAM Chili Sauce and the SARSONS vinegar...gotta try it

As for the Onion Ring is deep fried till a crispy flavor goes well with the tartar sauce .

The taste of the sausage roll is very special and tasty nice . Should try out for yourself oneday instead of reading my blog!

Barramundi fish & chips - RM36

As what the name is "The Magnificent Fish & Chips Bar", as you can already expect, most of us have go for the Fish & Chips...They actually have a variety of choices of fish for you to choose...Butterfish, Barramundi, Parrot Fish are some of it, which also what we actually have ordered...

Roast Chicken - RM 38

The Roast Chicken is worth to eat as the portion is big one person also cannot manage to finished it up. Really love the taste of the sauce and many side dishes in side. Its with bake potatoes, 3 big mushroom and mix vege below the roast chicken. Thumb Up for this dishes.

Salad Large - RM 25

I find that the salad is pretty nice and love the sauce they blend in .

The final bill came to RM 413 with the Onion Ring , Sausage Rolls , 3 set of Roast Chicken RM114, 2 set of Barramandi Fish and Chips RM72 and a couple of drinks and beers. The service tax is around RM50+. I would say that the price is pretty reasonable considering the fresh ingredients, nice ambiance, and very good service we enjoyed. I have a feeling I am going there again to try out some of their other stuff.
